The Altitude Comfort’s Career In The Trades Awareness Scholarship program was created to promote awareness of the opportunities for both high school and college graduates that exist in the heating and air conditioning, and plumbing trades. From front-line technicians to the many executive and professional positions that are available, the home services industry provides exceptional opportunities. The personal satisfaction and earning potential in our industry remains one of the best kept secrets among those looking for rewarding careers.

2017 Career In The Trades Essay Topic

Should the federal and/or state governments provide incentives to encourage homeowners to replace their old heating and air conditioning systems with newer, higher-efficiency models as part of our country’s commitment to preserving the environment?

  • 1,000 - 1,500 words
  • Word or PDF format

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be currently enrolled in a U.S.-based college or university

Awards

2 scholarship winners will be chosen based on the quality of their essays

  • 1st Place Award is $1,000
  • 2nd Place Award is $250

The 2 Scholarship Winners For 2017 Will Be Announced On The Altitude Comfort Heating and Air Facebook page on August 7th, 2017.

Scholarship Awards will be mailed directly to the college or university Financial Aid office on August 8th, 2017 with the student’s name and Student ID# attached. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books. supplies, lab fees, lab equipment or tools, and any specific items required by professors in their syllabus.
